Your Responsibilities as an Operations Manager
Overall Business Management
- You’ll help hire, coach, mentor, and hold team members accountable to ensure every job is completed with high quality and efficiency.
- You will help organize the daily flow of operations, improve systems, and support the team so the company grows profitably.
- You maintain a positive company culture and provide strong leadership to the crew every day.
- You ensure employees receive the training, safety education, and support they need to succeed.
- You’ll implement and maintain job site safety protocols, equipment maintenance routines, routing and scheduling, and daily operational standards.
- You collaborate closely with the owner to meet revenue goals, manage existing accounts, and grow the business.
- You implement the Grounds Guys processes effectively and consistently.
- Occasionally you will be asked to assist the crews with projects as needed to help work through issues that may arise.
Sales & Estimating Responsibilities. On occasion you will need to help with building estimates and working with the sales team.
- Conduct onsite property assessments for landscaping, lawn care, pruning, hardscape, drainage, lighting, seasonal services etc.
- Assist with preparing detailed estimates and present them to customers.
- Follow up with the sales team consistently and help convert leads into signed jobs.
- Build long-term customer relationships and represent the company professionally.
Personnel & Team Leadership
- Help hire, train, and develop crew leaders and team members.
- Assist with performance reviews, merit increases, discipline, and accountability.
- Maintain productive, positive crew morale and minimize turnover.
- Oversee staff schedules, routing, and vacation requests.

- Sales Performance: Your closing percentage, revenue generated, and follow-up consistency show your contribution to growth.
- Full Utilization of Software & Processes: You rely on CRM and operational systems to manage schedules, estimates, job notes, and reporting flawlessly.
Job Requirements for Operational Manager & Sales Representative
- A proactive leader with strong work ethics and high personal accountability.
- 4-6 years Experience in management, a back ground in landscaping, design, commercial & residential lawn care, hardscape construction, or similar field operations is preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to perform onsite estimates with confidence and professionalism.
- Knowledge of mowers, trimmers, skid steers, trailers, and basic equipment maintenance is preferred.
- Comfortable managing crews and enforcing safety protocols.
- Willing to complete any certifications or licenses required within 6 months (if applicable).
- Must have a clean driving history and experience pulling trailers.

The pay range for this position is dependent on your experience in landscaping, operations management, and sales performance.
