We are a new franchise location located in Northwest Austin, off Pond Springs Road. The Grounds Guys takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality residential and commercial lawn care and landscaping services. That standard is possible because of strong leadership and capable teams. We’re currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to help lead daily field operations, support our crews, and ensure consistent service excellence.

This role is ideal for a proven supervisor or an operations-focused professional ready to step into a hands-on leadership position.

The Role

As Operations Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day operations, alongside the owners, while remaining actively involved in the field as needed. This is a player/coach role - you’ll lead crews, step in when support is required, and set the standard through example.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and identify opportunities to improve training, efficiency, and quality
  • Work alongside crews when needed to support productivity, training, and job completion
  • Maintain organization across crews, schedules, and job execution
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, including identifying and proposing additional contract work
  • Use landscape CRM software to manage routing, scheduling, time tracking, job costing, and reporting
  • Support and develop team members while fostering a positive, accountable work culture
  • Ensure safety training, equipment maintenance, payroll reporting, routing, scheduling, and service completion are handled accurately
  • Monitor gross margins and report operational performance to the Owner
  • Implement and manage Grounds Guys franchise systems
  • Handle personnel responsibilities including hiring, performance management, promotions, discipline, and vacation scheduling

  • Effective Use of Systems & Software: Ensuring smooth operations across all areas

Job Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience with a strong work ethic and self-directed approach
  • Ability to operate and maintain lawn care and landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, tractors, etc.)
  • Willingness to work as a hands-on leader and contribute in the field when necessary
  • Experience using landscape CRM systems; LMN experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history, including experience towing a trailer
  • Willingness to complete required certifications and licenses within six months, if applicable

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $23.00–$26.00 per hour, based on experience in landscaping operations and team leadership
