Office Administrator / Phone Sales

Mon–Fri, 9AM–5PM | $18/hour to start + performance pay after 90 days
Home-based office on commercial property located in Oberlin
This position is NOT an administrative-only role.
This is a sales-forward, phone-intensive position that requires proven, professional phone sales experience. If you are not comfortable selling, handling objections, and closing over the phone all day, this role will not be a good fit.
Position Overview
As Office Manager Apprentice, you are a key team member supporting management and staff for The Grounds Guys of Avon, groundsguys/avon.com and Dirty Dog Home Solutions, dirtydogohio.com. Your primary responsibility is high-volume inbound and outbound phone sales, supported by office administration, scheduling, bookkeeping, and customer follow-up.
Applicants must have a minimum of 3+ years of phone-based sales experience.
Customer service–only or administrative backgrounds without strong sales experience will not be considered.
You must be confident, persuasive, organized, and motivated by performance-based pay.
Core Sales Responsibilities (Primary Focus)
- Handle high call volume inbound and outbound sales calls
- Sell services, overcome objections, and close jobs on the phone
- Follow up on estimates, proposals, and unsold leads
- Upsell and cross-sell services when appropriate
- Maintain professional, confident, and friendly phone presence
- Track and manage leads using CRM and scheduling software
Administrative & Office Responsibilities (Secondary Focus)
- Scheduling appointments and managing calendars
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Reports, mail, and general office coordination
- Billing, AR, and collections using QuickBooks Online
- Communication with sales and production teams

- Housecall Pro
- Microsoft Office
- Paradox
- Scorpion (marketing spend and ROI tracking)
Personnel & Marketing Duties
- Run hiring ads and manage interview scheduling
- Assist with onboarding and payroll coordination
- Order and manage uniforms and office supplies
- Manage Facebook, Instagram, and Google profiles
- Respond to Google reviews (positive and negative)
Required Skills & Traits
- Proven phone sales experience (3+ years REQUIRED)
- Comfortable asking for the sale and closing
- Results-driven and motivated by performance pay
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Self-directed, organized, and detail-oriented
- Professional demeanor with residential and commercial decision-makers
