Your Responsibilities as a Landscaping Project Supervisor

  • Manage, motivate, and coach team of up to 3 people while performing services including but not limited to landscaping, sod installation, irrigation, drainage, and holiday lighting.
  • Perform landscape maintenance duties, such as fertilizer application, weed control, aeration, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, trimming, pruning, debris cleanup, and more.
  • Perform landscape enhancement activities such as new landscape installation, landscape renovation, mulch application, seasonal plantings, topsoil application, lawn seeding, drainage installation, lighting installation, stump grinding, and more.
  • Operate a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to bed edgers, blowers, dump trailers, chainsaws, string trimmers, tillers, skid-steer loaders, trenchers, augers, hammers, zero turn mowers, edgers, blowers, and more.
  • Address clients' questions, comments, and concerns.
  • Assist with employee recruiting and selection.


o You are quite literally the boots on the ground. You’ll be walking job sites, checking for quality control, and making sure equipment is maintained.

o The team looks to you to keep things organized and on task.

o The team looks to you for support. You find solutions for issues that come up among the staff.

o You ensure everything is wrapped up and set to go for the next day.

· Attendance: Might sound basic, but it’s critical for the team lead to set the example in attendance for the rest of the team.

· Budget vs Actual Hours: Keeping jobs profitable is dependent on managing the time planned and spent at each job.

· Call-backs: You’ll ensure quality control to make sure it’s rare to ever need to go back to redo a job.

· Crew Retention: Ensuring a healthy team environment and keeping people accountable will help reduce turnover.

· Customer Retention: Building great relationships with each customer, and ensuring that they receive exceptional service, will keep them coming back.

· Full Utilization of Software & Processes: This helps make all the above possible.


Job Requirements for Landscaping Project Supervisor

  • 2 years of experience in landscaping, or similar service industries will be critical in order to lead a team.
  • Knowledge of pruning, fertilizers, and weed control products is preferred.

In addition, there are a few additional minimum requirements that are necessary to be considered for this position.

  • Clean driving history with experience driving a trailer
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to report to work in Westlake, LA at 7am Monday-Friday
  • Willingness to work occasional (paid) overtime
  • Willingness to work weekends on an as-needed basis
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work from high positions for installation of lighting and other duties
  • Positive and helpful attitude
  • Open minded and ability to be coached


Benefits & Pay

The pay range for this position is $16.00 to $20.00 and is dependent on your experience as a lawncare or landscaping professional as well as in leading a team.
